Mama Corn is one of the Keystone state’s hottest bluegrass bands today.  Since their 2006 inception, this down home quintet has helped define the sound and resurgence of the Pennsylvania bluegrass scene.  Born from the seeds of old time acoustic jam sessions, they quickly became a fixture on regional bluegrass festival stages with their unique brand of “Allegheny Mountain Bluegrass”.  Featuring five multi talented singer-songwriters; utilizing guitar, banjo, dobro, harmonica, mandolin, and upright bass; the spirit of traditional roots music is echoed in their palette.  Mama Corn’s dynamic sound, undeniable chemistry and fun loving stage show has made them a fan favorite everywhere they perform.  They have captured the interest of a whole new generation of listeners through their ability to push the parameters of the genre, while adhering to the traditions of the music.  Mama Corn recorded their debut studio album in 2011 which was met with rave reviews by such respected industry outlets as Bluegrass Preservation Society, Pennsylvania Musician Magazine and Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine.  In the following years, Mama Corn’s notoriety grew and they found themselves performing some of the most prestigious venues in the country such as, The Historic Wheeling Jamboree, Grey Fox bluegrass festival, and Musikfest, to name just a few.  In 2014, Mama Corn began production of their highly anticipated, second studio album which was released in June of 2014.  Their new record, “Hold That Crooked Line”, features eleven Appalachian flavored, original compositions that showcase the bands maturity, musicianship, and signature vocal harmonies that have set Mama Corn apart from the pack.  It is a celebrated follow up to their 2011 self titled release, and an outstanding effort from these keen musicians.  Mama Corn is proud of their studio recordings, but their true love is performing live on stage.  With a full slate of shows and festivals spread through out the year, look for Mama Corn on an area stage near you!
